For those who enjoy the thrill of competition, The Craftsmen Group is excited to be the founder of this tournament that shall draw both locals and visitors alike.
Entry Fee: $75 per angler (one entry fee allows participation in all divisions except for the Slot Red Drum TWT). The Slot Red Drum TWT is available for an additional $25 per angler and is optional, providing another opportunity for participants in the Bald Head Island fishing competition to win money. With over $10,000 in cash and prizes available, this surf fishing tournament promises excitement for everyone involved (based on 100 entries).
Boundaries: The tournament takes place along the surf of Bald Head Island, specifically between the BHI surf fishing flags. Please note that no boats, sound, or pier fishing are permitted.
Weigh-in Location: All weigh-ins will be conducted at the Bald Head Island Surf Fishing Headquarters located in the BHI Marina Yacht Club Building.
Tournament Headquarters: BHI Marina Yacht Club will serve as the central hub for the tournament.
Live Updates: Participants can look forward to three leaderboard updates during the tournament weekend: Saturday at 10:00 am, Saturday at 8:00 pm, and Sunday at 9:00 am. These updates will be posted at the tournament headquarters and through the tournament website, keeping everyone informed throughout the Bald Head Island fishing event.
Registration for the Bald Head Island fishing competition will take place on Friday, October 9, from 3:00 pm – 9:30 pm. Everyone must stop by Registration/Tournament HQ to receive their tournament wristband, which will be placed on their wrist—NO EXCEPTIONS! Food vendors will be available on Friday, October 9, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Tournament Headquarters. The surf fishing tournament officially kicks off with Fish Time starting at 11:59 pm on Friday, October 9, and will end on Sunday, October 11, at 12:00 noon. The Awards Ceremony will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 11, at the Tournament Headquarters, followed by the Tournament Raffle immediately after the ceremony.
In the upcoming Bald Head Island fishing competition, participants can look forward to exciting payouts across various categories. For the Blue Fish, the prizes are as follows: 1st place - $500, 2nd place - $300, 3rd place - $200, 4th place - $100, and 5th place - $50. The Trout category offers similar rewards: 1st - $500, 2nd - $300, 3rd - $200, 4th - $100, and 5th - $50. For Black Drum, the prize distribution is: 1st - $500, 2nd - $300, 3rd - $200, 4th - $100, and 5th - $25. In the Pompano category, the payouts are: 1st - $300, 2nd - $200, 3rd - $100, 4th - $50, and 5th - $25. Lastly, for Sea Mullet, the prizes are 1st - $300, 2nd - $200, 3rd - $100, 4th - $50, and 5th - $25. These payouts are based on 100 paid entries in the surf fishing tournament.
